The Light in London

I am writing this on the way back from the London Lodge. On Sunday we celebrated our 78th Anniversary and one of the purposes of my visit was to give a talk entitled ‘The Light in London’. As I entered the Lodge I was immediately aware of an increase in power and light since my last visit for our Christmas service. ‘This is amazing’, I thought. It seems that all the challenges are reinforcing people’s commitment and dedication. The Light in London is shining bright and clear.

In the early days of the work of the London Lodge, White Eagle referred to it as a ‘Lighthouse’. Indeed it is, in spite of the current challenge we face of moving the physical location. As I talked about the history of our work we remembered the war years and the bombing of the first Lodge. I talked about Grace Cooke’s courage in immediately searching for a new home. In preparation for our move now all activities have been re-located to the downstairs of our building. Thankfully no bombing, but as we still do not know where our new home is to be, the test is a similar one—of faith, courage, steadfastness and trust in White Eagle’s long term plan for the work. I felt these qualities being demonstrated in abundance.

It feels an example for us all: that the most important aspect of our work is what is done on the inner level. The light of our inner spiritual Lodge does indeed (and I believe always will) shine out across the city of London, touching the hearts and minds of all who live and work in this important capital city. The light touches those who are in positions of power—helping them make just and wise decisions. Whatever we face, let us be steadfast in our commitment to the light, and see harmony, peace and resolution of conflict unfolding in the shining light of the STAR.
