Staying Positive - Healing the Planet!

In my Sunday newspaper I read a front page article which talked about how climate change poses a ‘major risk’ to forests all over the world.

We are all becoming more and more aware of environmental issues and there are so many things we can do to help minimise the damage that is being done to our natural world. Many people are embracing the challenge. For instance, I was fascinated to watch a TV documentary recently about a family who had managed to recycle nearly all their household waste in the past year. And in another programme a couple who had constructed their new home so that it was totally energy self sufficient.

Thinking of the disturbing prediction quoted in my newspaper this Sunday, I am reminded yet again of the power of the Star and the work we can do as a group in projecting the light to inspire and encourage all environmental workers, as well as every individual. The power of ‘the group’ is so strong. Thousands of ‘light workers’ all around the globe can truly make a difference. And with this in mind, on Saturday in the New Lands Temple we held a candlelit Earth Hour (linking in with the World Wide Fund for Nature.).

In the magic of the candlelit Temple, listening to a soothing Tibetan bowl concert by Andrew Lyddon, fears melted away and peace filled the heart. It is so necessary to find this place above all anxieties for our light work; to let go of the fear which such articles can instil, so that we can be channels for the highest vibrations. In spite of the gloomy forecasts we may read in the newspapers, our work with the Star is to keep positive at all times. We need to do our best individually and collectively at the outer level, but also be steadfast in our inner work. I truly believe that together we can bring healing for our beautiful planet.
As White Eagle said some years ago:
‘Do not think in terms of what is going to happen to the earth regarding wars and disputes and material things. Get above it all and go for the principle and the truth, the divine law which is behind all manifestations. Look above, brethren, into the heart of the Star and see only God and the one true light working through all creation to bring beauty, harmony, love and perfection.’

A Centre of Stars!

In my last posting I wrote about ‘The Light in London’. During my early March ‘Anniversary’ visit there we also talked about ‘What is a Star Centre?’. Everyone offered their ideas which Colum wrote up on a flip chart. There were some great thoughts—often pictorial!

*        A centre of stars
*        A web of relationships
*        A magnet that draws people together
*        A sanctuary of unconditional love
*        A place where those we love in other worlds will visit
…… and the one I like most of all
*        A beehive of golden honey!

I love the way this image brings the feeling of busy service (all those bees busy at their work of creating honey!). It also has the feeling of nurture and enfoldment in a safe space which the enclosed shape of a beehive brings. Then there is the golden honey—symbol of the unconditional love of God perhaps.

I have just returned from one of our European Star Centres—in Munich Germany. Whilst there, I was thinking about these evocative descriptions. Many of those who attended our ‘Brotherhood Day’ usually work physically alone but linked together by our love of White Eagle’s teaching, and the magical power of the Star. We truly are part of a worldwide web of light that now reaches across the whole planet. The internet can link everyone on a mental level at just the touch of a button. Emails and other forms of communication and the social media have changed our world. The power of the Star is changing it in another way. We can reach out to one another in our hearts at any time. The Star is like a magic button:

Think Star.
Send love from your heart.
The magical connection happens.

I like to think we can all be a beehive of golden honey—a ‘Star Centre’ in our own way—and create our own inner ‘hive’ from which golden light and love shine across the world!

The Light in London

I am writing this on the way back from the London Lodge. On Sunday we celebrated our 78th Anniversary and one of the purposes of my visit was to give a talk entitled ‘The Light in London’. As I entered the Lodge I was immediately aware of an increase in power and light since my last visit for our Christmas service. ‘This is amazing’, I thought. It seems that all the challenges are reinforcing people’s commitment and dedication. The Light in London is shining bright and clear.

In the early days of the work of the London Lodge, White Eagle referred to it as a ‘Lighthouse’. Indeed it is, in spite of the current challenge we face of moving the physical location. As I talked about the history of our work we remembered the war years and the bombing of the first Lodge. I talked about Grace Cooke’s courage in immediately searching for a new home. In preparation for our move now all activities have been re-located to the downstairs of our building. Thankfully no bombing, but as we still do not know where our new home is to be, the test is a similar one—of faith, courage, steadfastness and trust in White Eagle’s long term plan for the work. I felt these qualities being demonstrated in abundance.

It feels an example for us all: that the most important aspect of our work is what is done on the inner level. The light of our inner spiritual Lodge does indeed (and I believe always will) shine out across the city of London, touching the hearts and minds of all who live and work in this important capital city. The light touches those who are in positions of power—helping them make just and wise decisions. Whatever we face, let us be steadfast in our commitment to the light, and see harmony, peace and resolution of conflict unfolding in the shining light of the STAR.
