Happy Anniversary!

Anniversaries are special times, whether they commemorate a birthday or a passing from the physical life, a special event or the founding of an organisation. 22nd February is the anniversary of the dedication of the first White Eagle Lodge in 1936. (This first Lodge was in a hired hall in London, and then the work continued in more permanent premises after the bombing of that first home during the second world war. This story is in itself a reminder, that even though we may lose a physical form, even though change is part of life, the essence that we love is eternal.)

During the dedication service, White Eagle said:`We have chosen to call this centre the White Eagle Lodge - a name not bearing reference to any particular person but referring to the white eagle as a symbol of vision, used down the ages by the Wise Ones whom we are privileged to serve. This is to be a centre of light; and all who would serve the Great White Light, whatever their denomination, whatever their school of thought, can meet here on a common plane of brotherhood and service...this place is to be a lighthouse to guide men and women, and we ask you to help us establish and maintain the light within.'

I have always loved this metaphor of the Lodge being a lighthouse, and I believe that over all the years since these words were spoken, the spiritual light and love has indeed shone brightly out into an often quite dark world. It has never gone out, even though the outer form may have changed. (And this applies of course to our New Lands Temple.) Throughout the years ince 1936, we have been guided safely on our journey through earthly life, not only by a lighthouse, (and there soon became many White Eagle Lighthouses, as more Lodges and Centres were founded all over the world), but also by a shining Pole Star in the heavens, just as the mariners of old were guided long before our modern day technology.

And White Eagle reminds us all now, as he did when these words were spoken: `When you are lost in the world, seek the light of the Star...it is the most powerful instrument which man has been given. You do not need to be anxious about any one...hold them in the Star...then you are giving them the greatest possible help, because you are helping them to help themselves.`

And a final word about anniversaries: they bring with them a special power, indeed a heavenly power and possibly even new vision and understanding. They bring an opportunity to reflect, to remember and to say `thank you` for the blessing an individual life (or an organisation) has brought into our personal lives.

Messages from Heaven

When things are difficult in our personal lives, and there seem so many world problems, I think many long for a message from Heaven....and preferably a message of reassurance and hope for better things to come.

A friend commented to me the other day, 'There are so many things on the internet, so much channeling of messages, why not more 'messages from our White Eagle'.

Yes, we are very aware that we need to make more use of modern day media possibilities and we are working on this and will be launching our new website soon, and using U tube more. However there is an important point I want to share about messages from heaven.

A very important aspect of White Eagle's work is to encourage us all to look within for guidance, answers to our questions, and 'messages'. This is the Aquarian way! In the Piscean age priests and authority figures told people what they had to do, often with a lot of spiritual blackmail and guilt thrown in. Now we are being set free from all that, to look into our hearts, and follow our own path and the truth we find through the light of God shining in our own hearts.

The challenge of this of course is:

Having to do it for ourselves!

Making the time to go into our quiet inner sanctuary

The 'have I got it right?' thought

Feeling nothing at all!

Hopefully these suggestions may help.....

I have found if no clarity, no clear inner guidance comes immediately, just leave it for a while and inwardly lay it on your altar.

Sometimes I actually write out my question and place it physically on my little sanctuary table.

Another thing I do is ask for a sign, if you like, a confirmation of what I think is the message. This frequently does come, but often in an unexpected way! We are probably all familiar with the joy of finding a white feather in an unexpected place, or the sudden appearance of a bird singing a joyful song, and then just knowing...Yes...this is the sign from heaven!

Just as I finished writing this, I said to White Eagle, 'Now I need a few words from you to add!' And I turned over my copy of the latest Stella Polaris...there was his message for us all, on the back cover:

'All that is lovely and pure and true will come through from your higher self, and that is the level on which your spiritual teacher works.'

New Year Thoughts from White Eagle

I love the bright energy of New Year time. It always encourages me to feel optimistic and look at everything in a more positive light. None of us can know what will actually lie ahead in the ensuing months, but what we can ALWAYS be sure of is God's love and care for us all.

White Eagle asks us to keep faith in this no matter what.

Perhaps this might be a good New Year Resolution:

I have faith in God's love and care for all life.

I have faith in God's Perfect Plan.

White Eagle reminds* us:

'We in spirit can look upon the earth from an angle which you cannot. We can see into the hearts of people, and what we see is beautiful. We see goodness, we see the light of Christ growing. We also see that which is crying out for love, and this is where you can help.....you have the power within to create your own heaven and to create your own hell, to create heaven or hell for your brother man....

and so we say in this New Year...

look to the spirit; let the spirit guide you in all your undertakings. Be true to your innermost light, and you will create heaven and know complete happiness on earth.'

*These words of wisdom and  more to inspire us throughout the year are in our book White Eagle on Festivals and Celebrations.

Christmas Gifts

'What can I give him, poor as I am?

If I were a shepherd, I would give a lamb.

If I were a wise man, I would do my part.

But what I can I give him.......

....... give my heart.'

I have always loved these words by William Blake in the well known Christmas carol. Even as a child, they meant a lot to me. Now, hearing the carol again this year, the words seem even more meaningful.

We are very near the traditional time of giving, and the shops and media are full of possible gifts for friends and family. And perhaps this year, after the separation and isolation of last Christmas, there is an even stronger feeling of wanting to acknowledge how much companionship and friendship means in our lives.

However, for many, illness and loss of jobs, and all the uncertainty of what lies ahead with new variations of covid, probably means that material giving of the expensive gifts we might wish to buy is not possible. But the great comfort is, I hope, that we all have a gift which we can give, no matter what - the priceless gift of LOVE.

The traditional story of the three wise men tells of three gifts. They may have been real material objects, but they are certainly symbolic of the gifts we can both give and receive in our lives.  (White Eagle has given us interesting teaching about this*.) We have been learning a lot about MYRRH, the challenges of living in a physical world, but this less welcome gift does bring with it great opportunities for developing spiritual wisdom, as well as down to earth practical kindness, such as free food parcels for the hungry and shelter for the homeless. And the  gift of FRANKINCENSE is symbolic of the heavenly and angelic help - the gentleness and sweetness which is there for us all - especially if we do all we can to follow our guiding Star!

But best of all,  I think, is GOLD - the gift  of God's light and love in our hearts, which can shine out in the darkness of material life and transform everything.

With my best wishes for a 'gold-filled' Christmas

Jenny

Remembering

Remembrance Sunday is a poignant time for so many, and its significance seems even more important nowadays, not only to the older generation who remember the world wars, but to the younger ones who study them in their history classes at school, but also witness vividly through media coverage, the horror of modern weapons. Also, we witness the courage of those who have survived military conflicts, but been terribly injured, and have to re-build their lives. We see the bravery of those who support their recovery, their close family members, and those who repair broken bodies and minds.

There have been so many inspiring stories this Remembrance time, which have touched my heart more than ever before. It is as though the separation from loved ones, which comes about with the pandemic, has highlighted the importance in our lives of those we love, and how significant it is to remember what they have given to our own lives.

Probably in most countries and cultures there are special ways to remember. In Latin American countries there is the festival of 'El Dia de los Muertos' (the day of the dead), and in the Christian church we have All Saints and All Souls Day. Halloween has similar roots, even though it has become commercialised these days with concentration on ghosts!

White Eagle's teaching gives a different perspective on remembrance, as he reassures us of the reality of eternal life, and that our loved ones living on are not ghostlike! On Sunday, we held our on-line Remembrance service. It is wonderful that technology now allows this opportunity to come together at the inner level, when physical attendance is not possible. (We had participants  from Africa, Europe and all over the UK.) This also brings to mind the fact that our loved ones in spirit (heavenly beings and angels) join us too, and they do not need the internet to do this!

One of the readings from White Eagle's teaching we shared was really specific about our loved ones continued presence in our lives and I would like to quote a part of it again now, for readers of this blog who were not present at the service.

'We have heard you relating to your friends what a wonderful time you had with your brother or your husband and that has all passed, that has all gone. This is where you make a big mistake, because these things are not over. All the lovely memories you have are still alive and you are can re-live your experieinces of happiness and joy because your dear ones are still living in a world of feeling and emotion and desire. It is not a dark world - they are in a world of light - in many instances, a world of intense beauty and perfection of form.'

And very importantly, White Eagle goes on to say: 'You do not need to go to anyone else for your vision. You have your own vision.... you only need to love God and have an open mind..... you need to expand your consciousness. The more your consciousness expands in the God-life, the more your inner powers will unfold.'

Thank you White Eagle. So as we remember our loved ones in spirit, let's try to be open to their presence with us!
