Just Laugh

White Eagle says in The Quiet Mind : ‘If everything goes wrong, just laugh! Just let it have its fling. Let it go, but keep your vision upon God, and know that all will come right. All will come right—that is the truth.’

I love this saying of White Eagle’s. A sense of humour can help us so much in the difficult times in life which come along for us all. Reading White Eagle’s teaching does not always convey his wonderfully practical humour which was, of course, more evident for his listeners in the days when he spoke at public services through my grandmother, Grace Cooke. I was fortunate to grow up close to her and had many experiences of him helping his listeners see the funny side of things. His humour has not gone away! Nowadays, when mostly his speaking is to each individual in the silence of our hearts (as we read his words), he can still make a joke or help us see the funny side of things. Laughing is wonderfully therapeutic!

When I see and feel White Eagle close (which is actually every day in my morning and evening meditation times and often throughout the day too) what I love so much is his enigmatic smile and the twinkle in his eyes. There is so much wisdom, love and understanding in his face, but he is not giving very much away! We can ask him a question and sometimes his answer pops straight into our minds, but more often, I think, there is just that twinkle in his eye, and his wise smile. He always encourages us to access the wisdom within our own being, to turn within to the Christ Light and find the answer ourselves. This surely is the Aquarian way. In Piscean times we looked to the priest, teacher, guru, medium, to tell us the answer. Now we are finding our own spiritual strength, and learning to listen to the wisdom in our hearts.

So, if you ask White Eagle a question and you just see that lovely smile and twinkle in his eye, don’t think he is not hearing you. He always hears every sincere prayer, but maybe answers in unexpected and even humorous ways. He knows that the challenging times are great opportunities for us to grow strong in spirit and if he told us all the answers we could possibly miss out on the chance to learn much needed lessons. But always, his deep compassion and understanding is with us. He really does know what it is like to be in a physical body and that humour will always help lift our spirits and feel the sun shining through the clouds…… ‘The stones which cut your feet as you walk the path of life have once cut ours’ he says. Yes, he does know!
